Branding update and Webflow website

THE PROJECT

I was tasked, alongside another designer, with cleaning up the Comic-Bee website. The original site was built in Wordpress but we decided to build in Webflow. We felt it would be easier to edit later on for other people, and Webflow is an easier learning curve. We were asked not to move the branding too far from the original, just to elevate the branding and design. We listed out the easiest UX changes, and leaned on Webflow’s layouts. We were not Webflow experts but found it easy enough to create a simple and static website.

BEFORE

The design was clunky, muted, and the elements on the pages had no room to breath. The white on yellow was hard to read, the logo was too complex, and it felt overwhelming.

AFTER

We were able to simplify the website, and create a more balanced design that was fully responsive. The product was for making comics, so we injected fun comic design elements to drive engagement.
