Website branding, UX fixes, and responsive layouts
THE PROJECT
Local 798 came to us with a small budget and an outdated website. They had about 60 hours of design time to improve their site. They needed easy fixes, a simple design, and a clear brand voice. They wanted to retain their main gold color but everything else was fair game.
BEFORE
This is what the original site looked like, dark, unbalanced, with giant components. The navigational menu took up the entire screen.
AFTER
After, this was the final home page design. We identified the first tasks most users will come to this page for and kept fairly large buttons in the 4 grid. The extended nav menu was no longer hidden in a hamburger. You could scroll down to see news and events, no longer hidden in an expanding component.
WRAP UP
By the end of the project, I delivered a strong brand voice, a clean and simple component set, and 4 page redesigns with simple UX fixes that greatly improved the overall user experience.
